Definition of Financial Freedom

Financial freedom is a word that has taken primacy in the 21st century. It is a term that describes a lifestyle that is organically planned where no one is required to work for income to cover their expenses. Financial freedom perpetuates that one can be free of the responsibilities of money as long as he has set a life defining plan to handle his finances.

Financial freedom does not mean that one is free of debt. However, it contends that debt can be defined as an expense. While debt is a constant financial consideration, a person who has acquired financial freedom is allowed to mark debt as a part of his expenses rather than a weight to his financial goals.

Financial freedom is a misconception for being rich. It allows people to cut their working hours with no loss of income because of money making activities.

Achieving Financial Freedom

Achieving financial freedom requires a different mindset. In our classic college education, we are taught to work for money. Therefore, we put in time to work and then we get our wage. This is the famous time for money swap. However, financial freedom removes the concept of time-and-money-swap and allows an individual to make money work for them.

Achieving financial freedom involves a different shift in lifestyle and overall mindset. While it is easy to think about having more time to invest and create a business, most office workers still find that whatever amount of time that they have should be placed in a routine. A critical step in achieving financial freedom is realizing that there are ways to make better use of ones time.

To achieve financial freedom, fundamental attitudes about the concept of money need to be changed. Realizing that money is only a mean to achieve an end is one thing. Knowing that no one should be judged depending on the amount of money they own is another. Judging financial freedom as the amount of money held defeats the purpose because in the end, you will not have financial freedom if you are not satisfied with the money that you have. Remember that financial freedom is also a personal perception. This perception is highly related to the level of satisfaction that money brings.

On another side of the coin, we should also remove the negative perception of money. While the saying that “money is the root of all evil” seems relevant, thinking that this is always the case will provide a repellent view about creating wealth. Always put into heart that financial freedom is a healthy endeavour as long as one feels it is ethically sound to make money. In the end, having the right attitude about money will go a long way in dealing with different perceptions of financial freedom. Financial freedom is ultimately a state of mind.

Deutsche Bank Championship

At the pizza parlor tonight, where they serve food at the bar, which is where I was sitting with my girlfriend, the guy next to me said to the bartender: "That Sox bet isn't looking so good now." I wasn't able to figure out what that bet was, but I bet it was made after the Yankees swept the Red Sox in five at Fenway, and I bet it was that the Sox will still make the playoffs, despite the massacre.

"You want to double down on Tiger not winning the Deutsche Bank?" the guy next to me continued. He'd ordered the chicken parm and a beer when he walked in. The trash talk would last beyond his house salad.

The bar tender went to another customer, maybe because he didn't want to deal with a double down offer, maybe because he didn't want to bet against Tiger, maybe because he didn't know that that would be a pretty good bet. I don't know.

He came back in the vicinity of us and the guy said, "He's won four in a row." The bar tender went to the other end and filled a beer. "He's won four in a row?" I asked. My neighbor said, "Four. He lost the U.S. Open." I said, "I think he's won five----the Western, the British Open, the ..." He turned away from me and asked the bar tender how many straight Tiger has won. The bar tender, still busy, put up his hand and opened his fingers. "You're right," my neighbor said. I wasn't, though. Tiger finished T2 at the Western. It's been four straight since. I'm not proud of not knowing that---I oughtta be able to hold my own in a very rare tavern discussion of golf, of Tiger's results. But, the fact that the bar tender thought he won five straight, too, and that the guy next to me was quick to agree, quick to second guess himself, gives some indication of the run Tiger's on now. It already seems like he's won more in a row than he actually has.

"Why do you think he's not going to win this week?" I asked the guy who was right but didn't know it. "Because he doesn't know the course, it's new to him."

I'm more of a momentum picker than horses for courses, but if I was the latter, I might have told my neighbor that I was pretty sure Tiger had done well in the recent life of this tournament. I would have been right because in the three years the Deutsche Bank has been played at the TPC of Boston, Tiger's finished T7 ('03), T2 ('04) and T40 last year, when he shot a 65 on Thursday, best round of that day. I'd say he doesn't have too many problems with the course.

The bar tender has a 50-50 chance, and probably better, of winning with Tiger. With Sunday's playoff win at the WGC event, he did, in fact, win his fourth in a row, and his sixth out of only thirteen tournaments played this year. The "probably better" aspect is the four in a row, the fact that the Tiger of 2000, a version of which I'd predicted we'd see at the start of the year, has now come. He may better those gaudy 2000 numbers by the time November rolls around, as he won 9 of 20 in 2000, and if he wins out this year he'll have a higher winning percentage. The only question is if this jaunt to Ireland before the Deutsche Bank is going to catch up with him after a round or two. But I have to figure that since he outlasted a late charge by Stewart Cink last Sunday, then took advantage of Cink's inability to close it with putts on the first two playoff holes, followed with a dart in the rain to Cink's approach in the sand on the third playoff hole, that since he won despite his best game, he feels pretty much invincible right now, and may be looking to Thanksgiving the way Warren Zevon thought about life: I'll sleep when I'm dead. Jet lag? Fatigue? Not now.

In the short time left of this golfing season I'm thinking what I thought at the beginning of the year: everyone out of the pool, it's his tournament to lose, which, the fact that I can say that, and it can be true for four weeks now, given the fact that 150+ golfers enter any given tournament, speaks to how absurd, ridiculous, pick-your-adjective Tiger has been of late. He's on a roll, a roll that only one person in recent years has had---Vijay Singh---who won his nine in 2004, followed up that campaign in which he briefly wrested No. 1 in the world from Tiger with four wins in 2005, but hasn't been heard from much since.

Anyhow, by now you've figured out who I'd like to pick to win this week's Deutsche Bank. At 5-4, put a half unit on Tiger to win.

In the head-to-head, put the unit on him to finish higher than Adam Scott (2-5).

Last week: I picked Jim Furyk and Stuart Appleby in the outright because I figured they had a shot. Furyk finished a close third. I picked him in the head-to-head, too, over Lefty. That was over by the weekend. So, it was a double win week.

Use the Law of Attraction to Build Your Business

Have you ever had something you wanted just fall into place; come to you through an out-of-the-blue phone call or by coincidentally meeting someone on the street? Have you ever met the perfect client or life partner--just by being at the right place at the right time?

When people fail, it's often because they have unconsciously made Declarative Statements to themselves that are negative, such as: "Money comes in one hand and out the other.", "I take one step forward and two steps back." or, "My business slows down during the summer months." These statements have negative feelings and moods attached to them.

Re-read the definition of Law of Attraction: We attract into our lives whatever we give our attention to, whether wanted or unwanted. Law of Attraction responds to these negative feelings and gives us more of them. Law of Attraction does not know whether it is something you want or not; it simply responds to your mood or feeling and gives you more of it.

Each time you hear yourself make a Declarative Statement that does not serve you, simply restate it and offer a better mood or feeling. Here is a quick way to turn a negative statement into a positive Declarative Statement.

Simply ask yourself: "So, what do I want?"

The moment you define what you do want, you start to experience a new mood or feeling, and Law of Attraction will respond to this better mood or feeling.

Over the next few days, start to notice what is appearing in your life, that is, what you are attracting. Then think back to what mood or feeling you may have offered that could have attracted what appeared. Search Engine Optimization and Advertising

In today’s net-savvy world it has become common for any business to have a website which they use mostly for advertising their products and services. With the advent of search engines it has become even easier for the customers to search for the stuff online. For a website to be successful its link should land in the first three pages which the search engine brings and the rank of the page should be high which means many visitors come to the site. This can be achieved by applying search engine optimization or popularly known as SEO. The rank of the web page was calculated mathematically by functions using strength and quantity of the inbound links. The higher the rank of the page the more chances it had to be viewed by a person.  Later algorithms were developed which considered various other on-page factors such as rank and off-page factors such as hyperlink. Since the webmasters couldn’t manipulate the page rank, they began exchanging, selling and buying links, which lead to link spamming and even creation of numerous sites dedicated for this purpose.

Algorithms became more complex by every passing day and top search engines kept their algorithms a secret. As the cost of SEO increased, advertisers were roped in to pay for it, which finally resulted in high quality web pages. Although investing in SEO is very fruitful, but at the same time is risky because with out any prior notice the algorithms being used are bound to change and the search engine will stop directing visitors to the page. They manipulate the HTML source code of the web site like menus, shopping carts and sometimes even the content of the website to draw more traffic. Research in advertising is done in order to produce better advertisements that are more efficient in motivating customers to buy a product or a service. New or improved words create a sense of curiosity. Advergaming: Advertising through video games

The practice of using video games to promote a particular product or an organization is known as “Advergaming”. Wired magazine first used this term in a column to describe the commissioning of free online games by large companies, in 2001. There are three categories of Advergaming: ATL Advergaming, BTL Advergaming and TTL Advergaming.

ATL Advergaming can be vaguely explained as a promotional video game. Markus, what is your experience in computer programming and how did it prepare you for becoming a webmaster?

The average pageviews a day is around 14 million for the last week. I'm getting another 80 million pageviews a day from users polling the site to see if they have new messages. Really intensive bandwidth wise!

When I go to your website, I notice that the ads are targeted to my region, yet I have not even registered- can you explain to our readers how you accomplish this feat?

I'm just using ip2location.com- Basically i take your IP, look it up in the database and it tells me what your city is. I then bring up a list of users in your city, nothing magical about it at all.

Are most of your visitors coming primarily from search engines (SERPS), or are you finding that they come from other avenues? Do you actively advertise in the media?

Search engines account for something like 2% of my traffic. The vast majority of my traffic, like any other site with over 5 million pageviews a day comes from word of mouth, and repeat visitors.


The services on your site seem to be offered at no cost to the registrants. Is there some advantage you have over your competitors that allows you to do this?
